An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Material Handler to join a dynamic and well-established manufacturing team in the Preston area. This role involves working with standard operating procedures to manage materials efficiently, ensuring smooth production flow, and upholding the highest quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the assembly process, liaising with management and team leaders to prioritise workloads while maintaining high levels of organisation and adherence to health and safety protocols.

This role is ideal for an individual with experience in material handling, particularly within a manufacturing environment. It would suit a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting, values teamwork, and takes a proactive approach to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency in material movement and assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and daily work schedules, ensuring efficient movement of parts through production.
• Assemble small mechanical components to meet quality and safety standards.
• Work closely with management and team leaders to prioritise workloads and maintain smooth operations.
• Maintain high levels of health and safety, adhering to strict regulations and reporting any deviations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to material handling methods and tooling where appropriate.

Benefits

The benefits of the role include a competitive salary starting from £12.40 per hour, 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, and working hours from Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and 8am to 1pm on Friday.
