About the Role:

JMS Engineers has an opening for a Senior Structural Engineer at our Central London office to undertake designs on a variety of projects, from small domestic extensions to large, multi-storey apartment and office developments. Working alongside colleagues within the local office as well as those in other parts of the Group, you will be encouraged to develop your design experience and skills and be supported to obtain accreditation to the Institute of Structural Engineers.

With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, the role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

Responsibilities:

1. Use latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
2. Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
3. Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
4. Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
5. Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.
6. Implement Company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
7. Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
8. Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS Engineers' services.
9. Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
2. Chartered Structural Engineer status MIStructE, FIStructE, MICE, or FICE would be advantageous.
3. Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
4. Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
5. Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
