Job description

I am working with a client who is a leader within the industry. They are looking to add a multi-skilled engineer to the team. In this role, you will provide full engineering support to the Production function under the leadership of the Engineering Shift Manager.

Package
Salary: £47,000-£49,000
Shift: 4 on 4 off Days & nights
Location: Manchester

Role

1. Assume responsibility for the mechanical and electrical integrity of equipment by carrying out effective planned maintenance inspections, reviewing frequencies, parts used, mean time between failure rates, etc.
2. Recommend improvements to maintenance schedules; carry out safety checks on equipment in line with legislation and best practice.
3. Overhaul and repair of plant; continually monitor plant conditions and report defects.
4. Deliver a consistent and improving plant reliability through the effective management and monitoring of downtime, PPM conformance, and engineering planning.

Requirements/Experience

1. Excellent electrical and mechanical knowledge.
2. Formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical and/or electrical discipline with corresponding practical experience.
3. Fault-finding, troubleshooting, diagnostics.
4. Ability to train effectively.
5. PLC automation skills.
