Job description

Our Client, are a specialist manufacturer of meals & snacks, with a passion for innovation in food. They have invested in state of the art NPD facilities to ensure that the future generation of snacks continues to exceed expectations.

They are looking for a highly skilled quality manager to drive operational and product quality performance throughout the business.

Role Description

  • The short and medium term development and improvement of the operational and product quality performance of the site through the effective management of the Quality Assurance function on site.
  • The development of key personnel within the Q/A department to create effective succession planning.
  • To interact with colleagues in all aspects of product quality and of plant performance in a manner that continuously promotes Quality management on site.
  • To drive the medium term quality performance improvement of the site through the formulation, delivery and validating of a site quality plan.
  • To drive short term & medium term improvement in the site’s quality performance through the formulation of weekly and monthly review forums to improve performance against identified quality KPIs.
  • To support quality improvement forums across the site through the co-ordination of technical and operational resources and initiatives.
  • To take a cross functional view within a team environment to identify and deliver opportunities for medium term site improvement and development.
  • Responsibility for the control and improvement of health and safety management within the Quality Assurance function.
  • To liaise with commercial, development and all other functions within the business in a manner which promotes the effective utilisation of the sites resources and ensures effective operational performance whilst preserving quality standards of the site.
  • To achieve effective control of sickness and absence rates within the business defined control procedures with the Q/A.
  • Through effective communication at all levels achieve an effective understanding of quality performance and priorities across the site.
  • Responsibility for the promotion and maintenance of a safe working environment within identified department at all time.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Training

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a FMCG food manufacturing environment.
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent in a food science related area.
  • High performance Q/A managers/Q/A staff.
