Job description

We are seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to become a part of a growing co-educational independent prep school in Wandsworth. This is a full-term, permanent role that is set to start in April.

The role
This exceptional and well-established coeducational independent prep school offers a nurturing learning environment for children aged 2 to 11. With intentionally small class sizes and a non-selective entry policy, the school emphasizes high standards and creative learning, catering to each child's individual needs while achieving remarkable results. This school is currently seeking a passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant school community and contribute to our outstanding reputation. Your role will involve supporting teaching in our Nursery and Reception classes. You will need to combine excellent communication skills with a genuine commitment to inspiring and supporting children, fostering their enthusiasm for learning.

The ideal Early Years Teaching Assistant

  • Hold a Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years or Teaching Assistance.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Proven ability to engage children in learning through effective communication and a deep understanding of their needs.
  • Serve as a positive role model.
  • Maintain a flexible, "can do" attitude.
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with young children.

The school
A warm, friendly, independent school with a robust educational philosophy, and a strong community is the most important to them. The staff members can connect with each child on a more personal level than is typically achievable in larger institutions. They prioritize individual excellence in all areas, whether academic, artistic, or athletic.
