Senior Technical Solution Architect

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital. You will be working on data-focused products and services which major initiatives within our Data & Analytics function.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

• Architecture design of data-oriented products/services.
• Micro-service and event-based architecture design and patterns.
• Presenting architecture design to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Building strong stakeholder relationships and collaboration at all levels.
• Analytics & Reporting: Data warehousing, Data Lakes, business intelligence (BI) and analytics technologies, design patterns, tools and best practice.
• Public cloud technologies, cloud hosting, container, and networking design patterns, tools and best practice (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Database Design & Management.
• Data Architecture Design: Data Modelling, Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata Management, Data Governance.

You and your role

As a Senior Solution Architect, you will lead on the technical feasibility and design of a range of innovative solutions, working across teams delivering services in:

• Data Exploitation
• Data Enablement
• Data Platform

You will deliver the technical and architecture design elements for Digital & Analytics services which are critical in helping DWP gets where we need to go.

Along with that you will support delivery teams, using your technical skills as a respected architecture expert and behavioral skills to lead, inform and influence others.

You will ensure the technical quality of our solutions and adherence of solution designs to the DWP Enterprise Architecture and Product Road maps. You will also identify, capture, share, iterate, and implement architecture patterns.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £70,000.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £16,000 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 25 days and rising to 31 days over time.

You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
