Location: Crawley
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a creative and detail-oriented Packaging Designer to join a growing consumer goods business based in Crawley. This is a key role that focuses on designing innovative, eye-catching packaging for a wide range of products, along with supporting digital and marketing design requirements.

As a Packaging Designer, you will play a vital part in shaping the visual identity of multiple product ranges. You will collaborate with product development, marketing, and e-commerce teams to create packaging that not only stands out on shelves but also communicates the brand message effectively to consumers. This position is perfect for a talented designer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, varied role and has a passion for consumer packaging and visual branding.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop creative packaging solutions for a variety of consumer goods.
2. Produce packaging artwork and layouts that are both functional and visually engaging.
3. Create product labels, cartons, outer packaging, and point-of-sale materials.
4. Ensure packaging designs meet technical specifications and print production standards.
5. Collaborate closely with product development teams and suppliers to bring concepts to life.
6. Develop digital assets for the company website, including banners and promotional graphics.
7. Design marketing materials such as brochures, catalogues, advertisements, and social media content.
8. Work on brand development projects, supporting consistent visual identity across packaging and marketing materials.
9. Maintain knowledge of packaging trends, materials, and competitor design activity.
10. Manage multiple design projects, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Ideal Candidate

1. Proven experience as a Packaging Designer or Graphic Designer, ideally within consumer goods, retail, or FMCG sectors.
2. Strong portfolio showcasing packaging design projects.
3. Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
4. Excellent understanding of packaging design principles, layout, typography, and colour theory.
5. Strong knowledge of print processes, die-lines, and packaging production.
6. Attention to detail with excellent layout composition and presentation skills.
7. Ability to interpret briefs and develop creative design concepts that appeal to target markets.
8. Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
9. Highly organised with strong time management and project management skills.
10. Awareness of sustainability and environmentally friendly packaging solutions is desirable.
