Business Development Manager - United Kingdom

Position is remote worker located within the United Kingdom

For the right skilled and motivated salesperson, this position offers the opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-growing business with a market leader. Industrial Scientific is currently seeking a top-performing solution-oriented sales professional to grow sales in the United Kingdom.

The position is focused on expanding Industrial Scientific's portfolio of connected gas detection solutions with end users, existing and new customers and distributors across all verticals.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle at the end user and distributor. The position reports directly to the Sales Director - Europe.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve Company sales targets for the Territory
  2. Report all activity, contacts, visits, opportunities, etc. using the Company CRM system
  3. Analyze the client's business needs/goals and propose compelling solutions
  4. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of managed opportunities in the Company CRM system
  5. Provide monthly forecasts in alignment with sales goals
  6. Develop and execute a sales action plan for France
  7. Contribute to and assist with proposals/responses to RFPs and RFIs
  8. Work with multiple account executives to close large enterprise sales
  9. Ensure that product evaluations are followed up and converted to sales
  10. Assist the Customer Success team, to ensure that user needs and requirements are clearly understood and communicated for onboarding and training activities
  11. Assist the Evaluations and Sales Development teams with follow-up, to convert opportunities/enquiries into orders
  12. Represent the Company at events/exhibitions/conferences as required
  13. Upsell and expand footprint with existing customers
  14. Driving demand at the end user, then pulling through distribution
  15. Establish Industrial Scientific as the go-to connected gas detection solution provider in France

Experience Required:

  1. 5+ years of proven track record of success in outside sales/business development in industrial sales, with an emphasis on solution selling
  2. Previous experience of gas detection and the safety industry
  3. Working knowledge of the Company's target markets
  4. Proven track record in managing sales cycles in the industrial safety market
  5. Use of CRM software and forecasting (Salesforce preferred)
  6. Ability to solve customer issues and deliver better outcomes for customers, through innovative technology solutions (i.e. SaaS)
  7. Experience selling safety and/or industrial software and hardware solutions in industries such as energy, utilities, mining & metals, petrochemical, etc.
  8. Proven success selling at C-Suite level
  9. Proven track record of setting up and managing a distribution network while also focusing on sales generation at the end user

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  2. Ability to use and drive the Company's IT tools (Microsoft Office, CRM etc.)
  3. Knowledge of industrial connectivity options (cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, RFID etc.) and how these are applied in connected safety solutions
  4. Understanding of fundamentals of gas detection
  5. High standard of literacy/numeracy
  6. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  7. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of a customer - from device users to C-Suite
  8. Multi-lingual capability preferred
  9. Goal-orientated and driven
  10. Strong prioritization and organizational skills
  11. Demonstrates commitment to world-class customer service
  12. High ethical standards required in all activities and interactions
