As a Community Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for contributing to the success of our Greater London Authority (GLA) and Adult Education Budget (AEB) contracts. The primary focus of this role will be to engage with local community groups across London, fostering relationships, and promoting participation in a range of courses under the GLA/AEB contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving referrals, organising courses, ensuring compliance, meeting targets volumes and income, and providing essential support to learners.
Responsibilities
- Meet monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for engagement and income generation, with a focus on outcomes.
- Proactive engagement with local community groups, organisations, and stakeholder to promote awareness of all planned courses.
- Collaborate with community partners to organise and set up courses in various localities across your region.
- Drive referrals onto the GLA Contract program by effectively communicating the benefits of participation to potential learners.
- Manage the enrolment process, ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurately completed and submitted within specified timelines and completing all eligibility checks as necessary.
- Conduct short bitesize introduction sessions to familiarise participants with the course content and structure.
- Provide personalised support to learners through one- on-one sessions to ensure they are committed to the completion of the course.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with learners, community groups, and partners to enhance program engagement and success.
- Maintain accurate records of engagement, referrals, course participation, and learner progress for reporting purposes.
- Collect feedback from learners and community partners to continually improve course content, delivery, and overall program effectiveness.
- Cover additional geographical areas when required to contribute to the delivery of outcomes.
- Undertake any other reasonable/appropriate duties as needed.
Education /Qualification - Maths & English proficient (E)
- Level 2 IAG qualification (D)
Skills and Experience Essential - Experience of identifying and bringing in new relationship/ business with an evidenced track record of converting learners’ interest into business growth. (E)
- Industry specific experience in engagement with JCP and other relevant organisations to deliver job outcomes / work placements. (E)
- Prior experience in community engagement, or transferrable skills to show experience with dealing with the public/community groups. (E)
- Experience in delivering confidence-building sessions to groups of individuals and providing 1-2-1 support where necessary. (E)
- Knowledge of the barriers to employment for our demographic of learners, and you can assist them in overcoming barriers and building confidence. (E)
- Experience in completing enrolment paperwork and signposting learners to appropriate pathways. (E)
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle in working hours (E)
Desirable, but not essential: - Delivering outcomes via GLA/AEB contracts or similar contract sales experience (D)
Additional Information Salary: £28,000 per annum depending on experience
Location: Remote with the ability to travel across London.
Contract: Permanent - Full Time
Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30
