If so, join Dane House in Brighton, and provide care for men and women with a range of learning disabilities, including autism and/or sensory and communication impairments. You will be key in supporting individuals to lead a full and valued life. It's a career that you can take pride in.

At Dane House you will have the chance to develop your skills and career. With a huge range of courses on offer, if you have the aspiration, capability and dedication, Elysium Healthcare can give you the support and opportunities to help you achieve your career goals.

What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and skills to help change the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Team Leader Support Worker, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  4. Supervising support staff
  5. Organising activities and administering medication
  6. Communicating with families and professionals
  7. Overseeing daily reports and budgets
  8. Completing financial audits and H&S checks

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. It is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of you; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week.

No two days are the same in this role, offering plenty of engagement and motivation. While there's a degree of routine, you can expect a diverse work environment.

This is a permanent, 37.5 contracted hours, full-time vacancy, on a 4 weeks rolling rota with shifts between the hours of 7am and 10pm.

You will have:

  • A valid UK driving licence to assist with activities would present an advantage
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • Strong empathy and a caring and compassionate nature
  • Willingness to support residents with personal hygiene
  • Excellent people and communication skills, and a good sense of humour
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviours
  • A positive and professional approach
  • Reliability, flexibility, hard-working and honesty
  • Local or within commutable distance

You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa's cannot be accepted.

Where you will be working:

Location: 52a Dyke Rd Avenue, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 5LE

Dane House is a six-bed mixed gender community-based home, with a range of communal facilities including lounges, dining room and kitchen alongside sensory facilities and a large garden. Residents may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems.

Dane House is located in Brighton within walking distance of an array of local facilities and resources. Brighton has excellent transport links across the south of England and direct train routes into London.

What you will get:

  • Free meals and parking in local streets.
  • Wellbeing support and activities to help you maintain a great work-life balance
