Senior / Lead Engineer - Python - UK Healthcare / Charity

Are you a Senior Developer looking for the next step, or a Lead Developer ready for a new challenge in the Public Sector Charity space? We’re looking for someone like this to take ownership of our clients platform, drive innovation, and mentor the engineering team. Team is currently 3 engineers with a surrounding team of Product, Project, QA and UI/UX.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Technical Leadership – Own the development and architecture of public facing websites, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability.
• Hands-on Development – Lead by example, guiding the team in technical design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Ownership & Strategy – Oversee the full development lifecycle and help shape the future of the platform.
• Engineering Culture – Champion best practices, foster collaboration, and drive a learning-focused environment.
• Mentoring & Growth – Support and mentor engineers to build a high-performing team.
• Innovation – Encourage experimentation with new technologies and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with Python (ideally with Django or similar)
• Some Front End experience (React a bonus)
• A passion for technical leadership and mentoring
• Proven experience in building and scaling web applications
• Ability to drive technical strategy and innovation
