You will be working alongside an award-winning team of Analysts and Data Engineering experts, driving digital change across Stantec and our clients, with a particular focus on projects within the water sector. We're customer and user-focused, pushing new ways of working across digital, whilst incorporating technology and data into all our services and solutions.

Your input into the Digital solutions being developed will be fundamental to Stantec's ongoing growth and success. As part of our global team, you will help to develop newer, better services and products for our clients.

You will also be deriving insights from data that enable proactive management of assets and more informed investment planning, benefiting communities and the environment by using digital technology to help our clients meet the challenges faced within the Water industry.

This role is client facing - you will need to work with our clients in the water industry to understand their requirements, propose data analytics solutions/approaches, support proposal writing and work with the team to deliver the work. You will be involved in the technical delivery and supporting more junior members of the team.

About you

You will have experience of developing automated tools to help clients understand their data, along with optimisation and predictive analytics solutions to improve decision-making. You will be able to use a variety of approaches to extracting value from data, importantly being an advanced Python user, knowing how to clean and prepare data, tell a story through presentations and dashboards (Power BI), and where appropriate build and implement ML models.

You will have an understanding of how to implement technical solutions into client processes to effect real change. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to support junior colleagues with mentoring, training and quality assurance. You will also be expected to contribute to defining and raising technical standards in the team and to scope out proposals and help win work.

As well as being an advanced Python user, you will be able to use SQL to extract and analyse data. A strong emphasis is placed on applying good DevOps principles and version control. Knowledge and experience of deploying solutions in the cloud (especially Azure) would be a plus.

You will be able to design solutions around client requirements and have an understanding of test principles.
