Structural Engineer
£38k-£48k
London W2
Do you enjoy small and complex bespoke residential projects? Could you be interested to join a well established small firm where you will have plenty of flexibility and autonomy, individual recognition and an excellent bonus scheme?
This structural engineering consultancy was established in the 60's, has many repeat clients, plenty of challenging niche architecturally led projects, along with some bread and butter style work, ranging from tiny up to £2m in value.
The nature of the work lends itself to creative engineers who like to be out and about visiting sites, talking to home owners and architects, assessing structures, writing reports and making design recommendations. Variety is the lifestyle here and you will be running your own projects from start to finish, with appropriate assistance/supervision from a Chartered Director.
You should be keen to work towards Chartered status and have at least 3 years of buildings design experience with all the main materials. Ability to use Autocad and Bluebeam preferred.
The firm currently has 2 Chartered Directors and one Engineer, and are looking to take on another two people straight away. You will be gaining direct Mentorship from the Directors who give excellent support and training for Chartership. Their work also lends itself well to this due to such variety.
The firm are looking to expand further in the not too distant future, so there is the opportunity to assist with the development and future growth of the practice if desired. Advancement prospects and input in shaping the business future here are very real. There could be the opportunity to get involved in insurance work if desired (not essential).
The firm has lovely studio space inside a funky business development in W2, with its café, break out spaces, business community events, great views over the river and excellent transport links. Work from home is embraced too though, so hybrid working is very flexible, as are the hours. The firm is family friendly and is an environment where people enjoy work, but are not overworked. A generous 25 days holiday plus the Christmas closure will be given plus bonus scheme related to performance.
