Job description

An unusually exciting opportunity to work within one of the South West’s hottest start-ups has come up for a Full-Stack Developer with strong Python and SQL programming experience. You will be working in the green homes space for a fast-growing business with the vision to make sustainable homes achievable for all. With new investment and contracts won, they’re making a meaningful impact within the ClimateTech space in helping homes to be more sustainable and lowering energy bills. This role will be in their office 4-5 days per week (free parking, near to the centre of Bristol).

What skills you’ll be needing

Essential

• Python
• SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with algorithms, statistical analysis, data manipulation.

Desirable

• Good knowledge and experience of frontend and backend programming languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and AJAX.
• Experience / knowledge of backend REST API.
• Familiarity with AWS storage.
• Knowledge of Java.
• Experience with GitHub or Gitlab.
• Strong communication skills.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the Lead Developer and Senior Full Stack Developer you will be developing and supporting in-house applications according to their roadmap. The role will centre around the use of Python and SQL but could also cover JavaScript, AWS, possibly even some Java! They have daily standups within the team and actively encourage new ideas and the proposal of new technologies. They will need you to provide thorough documentation on new features being developed and have the ability to work on tasks set independently. There will be plenty of exciting challenges and the opportunity to learn, develop and move into a senior/tech lead role over time within this purpose-driven business.
