Job Title: Secondary MFL Teacher
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: After Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time (Permanent/Fixed Term) (Part-time available for the right candidate)

Whether you are a Qualified Teacher (QTS/ECT), an overseas-trained teacher, or an experienced Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor looking to take the next step, this school offers a supportive and dynamic environment for professional growth.

About the Role:

As a Secondary MFL Teacher, you will have the opportunity to engage students with inspiring and interactive language lessons, helping them build confidence and fluency. You will be part of a welcoming and forward-thinking department, committed to fostering a love for languages and global perspectives.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering engaging and interactive MFL lessons tailored to students’ learning needs.
• Encouraging students to develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Creating an inclusive classroom where all students can excel.
• Assessing student progress and providing individualised support and feedback.
• Supporting students with SEN and EAL needs through differentiated teaching methods.
• Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the MFL curriculum and enrichment activities.
• Organising and participating in language-based extracurricular clubs, events, and trips.

Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Applications from overseas-trained teachers who meet UK teaching standards are encouraged.
• Experienced Teaching Assistants or Cover Supervisors looking to transition into teaching will also be considered.
• Proficiency in at least one modern foreign language (such as French, Spanish, or German).
• A passion for language learning and cultural diversity.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
• A commitment to delivering inclusive and high-quality education.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
