The Role
As a Senior User Researcher, you’ll be a key member of our multidisciplinary User Research & Insights team. Your core mission will be to lead high-impact research that deepens our understanding of user needs and behaviours—especially in the areas of personalisation, discovery, and AI-powered experiences.
You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers to shape the next generation of our app experience. From uncovering unmet needs to optimising how users interact with intelligent systems, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our product decisions are grounded in real user insight.
This role operates under our hybrid working policy: three days per week in our London HQ, with the remainder working from home.
We're Looking for Someone With
- Strategic Product Thinking: A track record of influencing product direction through deep user insight—comfortable framing problems, identifying opportunity areas, and shaping roadmaps in collaboration with product, design, and data partners.
- Experience with Personalisation & Content Discovery: Uncovering nuanced user needs and behaviours to inform complex, adaptive systems—especially in areas like content surfacing, recommendation engines, and helping users explore new, relevant options in context.
- Curiosity About Emerging Tech & GenAI: A strong interest in how users engage with AI-powered experiences—especially in shaping new patterns of interaction with LLMs and helping define what great looks like in this still-uncharted territory.
- Mixed Methods Mastery: Confidence in designing and executing complex research programs across qualitative and quantitative methods—with the ability to coach others and scale best practices across the team.
- Analytical & Conceptual Agility: Comfortable moving between the details and the big picture—interrogating behavioural data, triangulating with qual, and helping the team see around corners.
- Exceptional Storytelling & Influence: Adept at crafting compelling narratives that land with senior audiences—balancing rigour with clarity, and always driving toward impact.
What You'll Be Doing
- Shaping the Future of the App Experience: Lead generative and evaluative research to guide the development of new features—especially those aimed at improving how users discover new restaurants, dishes, and offers.
- Driving Personalisation & Discovery: Partner with product managers and designers to uncover user needs, behaviours and pain points that inform the development of more tailored and engaging user experiences across our app.
- Embedding Customer Insight into Product Development: Act as the voice of the user throughout the product lifecycle, influencing roadmaps and design decisions with clear, compelling insights.
- Running End-to-End Research Projects: Identify key knowledge gaps, prioritise research needs, and deliver impactful mixed-methods research.
- Scaling Research Impact: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed research into agile ways of working, ensure continuous discovery, and democratise insight through effective storytelling and share-outs.
- Engaging with Industry Trends Firsthand: Travel a handful of times a year to key markets, gaining on-the-ground insights that inform product strategy and user experience improvements.
