Quantity Surveyor - (Closing date - 30/06/2025)

Overall Objective:

The commercial management of contracts specific to the sector.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Build working relationships with supply chain, consultants, and clients where appropriate.
  2. Procurement of sub-contractors in line with target programme and company policy.
  3. Contract administration of sub-contracts.
  4. Timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors’ applications and issue of payment notifications to sub-contractor.
  5. Measurement of quantities both on site and from drawings, where required.
  6. Timely and accurate evaluation of variations/provisional sum expenditure and monitoring of the same.
  7. Civils - Weekly direct labour & plant subcontractor payments if required.
  8. Accurate production of internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and cost value reconciliations in line with the Commercial reporting timetable.
  9. Ensure good quality & accurate records are maintained.
  10. Delay identification/notification in tandem with project team.
  11. Effective change management in line with contract.
  12. Manage and minimise non-recoverable costs on projects.
  13. Price and effectively agree all project variations.

Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Relevant HND, Degree in Quantity Surveying, Built environment or equivalent, desirable.
  2. Minimum of three years’ experience working on projects within construction sector.
  3. Working knowledge of contract conditions such as NEC, JCT.
  4. Proficient in the use of MS Office.
  5. Appropriate CSCS card - desirable.
  6. Valid Driving licence.

  1. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  2. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels.
  3. Excellent attention to detail.
  4. Prioritise and plan to deliver agreed objectives.
  5. Able to produce accurate work within required deadlines.
