EFAB Industrial Solutions, a leading Engineering Construction business based in Immingham, are seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their successful team.
The Senior Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for delivering complex and challenging technical process safety solutions to clients in the form of stand-alone consultancy, acting as subject matter expert across a range of projects and technical areas and for guiding and checking the technical solutions of more junior Engineers as necessary, on time and to budget, in accordance with all relevant Engineering and Company procedures.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Process Safety Engineer

1. Conducting Process Safety activities, e.g. HAZOP, HAZID, SWIFT, LOPA, SIL, ATEX, DSEAR etcetera
2. Ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects of projects are maintained to relevant acceptable standards
3. Assisting in setting HSE criteria for projects and in the preparation and content of the Process Safety Plan and Environmental Plan
4. Acting as HSE expert for all projects, supporting project management and engineering disciplines with Process Safety concerns and queries
5. Gathering & compiling Process Safety and Environmental information
6. Establishing risk tolerances & Preparing Process Safety Basis of Safety
7. Devising suitable and sufficient Hazard Studies to meet client requirements
8. Conducting Process Safety Reviews such as Human factors, Hazardous Area Classification, Inherent Safety, Alarm Prioritisation
9. Maintaining Process Safety documentation for projects
10. Supporting the Business Development team on sales visits, conference calls and/or client meetings
11. Leading and supporting the production of compelling and competitive proposals

2. LOPA Study & Functional Safety Leadership
3. SIL Determination (Risk, Graph, LOPA)
4. Hazardous Area Classification and DSEAR
5. ALARP demonstration
6. Process Safety & Environmental Legislation knowledge
7. Process Safety & Environmental Management Systems
8. Fire & Explosion Analysis and Fire Design / Fire Reports

Technical Requirements of Senior Safety Engineer

1. Will share knowledge with more junior members of department, and support continuous improvement through project close out processes, lessons learnt and sharing learnings with the wider engineering community, whilst keeping up-to-date with latest industry standards and technology
2. Be familiar with all relevant engineering and design software, with a good understanding of the availability and use of all relevant electronic tools and software
3. Full awareness and understanding of the content of the Engineering Procedures, and their practical application
