Job description

Are you passionate about creating innovative, elegant and robust structural engineering solutions for complex construction projects? We are looking for a Structural Technician to join our Manchester team on a contract basis.

This role is deemed inside IR35. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
• Follow the established BIM execution plans and adhere to project specific documentation.
• Ensure that the model aligns with the standards and goals set in BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
• Develop accurate construction drawings and extract data based on the discipline BIM platform.
• Produce drawings/details from engineering sketches/calculations.
• Generate detailed reinforcement drawings and structural steel drawings.
• Review model/drawings to check compliance with design.
• Conduct clash detection, resolution and reporting ensuring a coordinated design.
• Use BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team.
• Understand and experience leading and delivering structural drawings (from schematic drawings to rebar detail drawings).
• Have structural modelling experience using Revit and drawing production (knowledge of model, view and sheet planning and set-up).
• Possess extensive experience in the use of Autodesk software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
• Have delivered structural engineering drawings using BIM for various materials such as Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
• Have multi-disciplinary understanding and experience in coordination with other disciplines.
• Experience in clash detection and use of Navisworks.
• Knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper would be beneficial.
• Work closely with an integrated design team including checking and reviewing of models/drawings.
