We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Automation Tester to join BNZ Technology tīma (team), in our Digital Channels domain.

This position is an Auckland based position and is a hybrid tūranga (role) with two days where you can work flexibly.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We sat down with our Platform Manager, and they let us know the following about the tūranga.

What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this tūranga will complete?

Day-to-day tasks can vary, however as an example:

• Participating in agile ceremonies including stand up, retrospective, planning and demonstration. Undertaking non-testing related activities to assist the tīma to deliver on its commitments.
• Ensuring test automation is performing as required.
• Creation of test automation/documentation/test plans.
• Support on refinement of work with the business analyst/platform owner.
• Where relevant leading with testing practices in the tīma and domain to uplift performance of the platform and products.

What is the tīma culture and environment like?

We have a very inclusive tīma culture in the domain and direct tīma, the tīma go for tīma coffees and lunches and enjoy working together. In the same vein, they also have a lot of open communication across channels to help foster strong collaboration.

What projects / mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?

In this tūranga, you’ll work on a range of pieces of work across our online channels such as the website authenticated Internet banking channels. Some immediate pieces of work would look into personalisation across the website, uplifting home lending tools, migration pieces of work and general platform enhancements/maintenance.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

The most exciting aspect of working in this space is the sheer breadth of work, you’ll never get bored!

Also, this is a rewarding opportunity as this work directly interfaces with customer outcomes, so the work you do will translate to the quality of the product customers will use when interacting with BNZ.

What specific tech skills would be beneficial?

• CI/CD tools e.g. Jenkins, AWS, GitLab CI, or CircleCI is also important for integrating tests into the software development lifecycle.
• Cypress/Playwright (good to have).
