London Bridge Healthcare is part of Richmond Pharmacology and is a new state of the art private medical clinic based near London Bridge station. Our team specialise in a variety of medical services including Varicose Vein Treatment - Radiofrequency Ablation, Coronary Health Checks, Gynaecology, Dermatology and hand and wrist pain.
The Role:
We are seeking experienced Clinic Nurses to join our team. This will include assisting consultants with minor surgery, pre-surgical and post surgical patient care assessments, wound management, measuring of blood pressure, ECG’s, planning, implementation and evaluation of care in addition to providing effective support to the clinicians and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide nursing services to the clinic by assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
- To maintain appropriate medical records to ensure continuity and quality of care for patients.
- To maintain skills at the current level and undertake such training and development as may from time to time to be required to maintain personal competency.
- To provide assessment, treatment, assisting and supervising surgical procedures in line with the NMC Code.
- Provide nursing treatments to patients independently or in participation with nurse colleagues or clinicians with reference to agreed protocols and guidelines.
- Provide general and specific health screenings to the clinics patients (with agreed protocols and guidelines) with referral to clinicians or other health professionals as necessary.
- Maintain continued education by attending relevant courses and study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development.
- To be familiar with changes and progress in nursing care. Evaluating and adapting care using evidence-based practice in consultation with colleagues as a forum for team education, development and audit.
- Nursing procedures to include - wound management, measuring of blood pressure, ECG’s, assisting consultants with minor surgery, pre-surgical patient care and post surgical patient care, in house and house training will be given to safeguard and promote safe practice.
- Advise patients with pre-and post-surgery care.
- To be responsible for the efficient running of the theatre, clinical rooms and equipment.
- Responsible for carrying out nursing duties in line with requirements for the day.
- Participate in activities required to assess compliance with CQC essential standards.
- To maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all consultations and treatments in the patient’s notes, both written and computerised.
- Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient’s health care and registration with the clinic.
- Attend and participate in the clinic and staff meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with other disciplines within the clinic, with appropriate regard to confidentiality.
- To have working knowledge of equipment used in the surgery.
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment and stock levels relating to patient care alongside nursing colleagues and the Clinical Services Manager.
- Responsible for managing the clinical stock and ensuring sufficient stock in preparation of procedures.
- Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality at all times, in line with current legislation.
- Maintain an accurate and efficient appointment system.
- Ensure all patient information is accurate, easily accessible and kept up to date.
- Participate in the assessment of the effectiveness of health care provided by the clinic.
- Inform the Clinical Services Manager or Head of Private Healthcare of any reported or suspected failings in the provision of care within the clinic.
- Participate in taking care of your own health and safety. Staff must not do anything to compromise the health and safety of either their colleagues or themselves. Staff should also be aware of the responsibilities placed in them by legislation to ensure health and safety procedures are followed. This will help to maintain a safe workplace for all.
- Ensure patients rights are protected.
- Promote and participate in a high standard of care within the clinic.
Additional responsibilities:- Encouraging the development and progress of the clinic.
- Contribute to the development of new patient services.
- Participate in developing the philosophy, goals and objectives for health care provided in the clinic.
Qualifications and Experience:- RGN Qualification or equivalent.
- NMC Registration.
- Previous outpatient experience in supporting varicose vein treatment - radiofrequency and laser ablation, coronary health checks, gynaecology, dermatology and hand and wrist pain.
Schedule: Day Shift - Monday - Friday
