Job description

Smart4Chemicals are looking to recruit a Development Technologist for a leading composite materials manufacturer in the Nottinghamshire area.


To be considered for the role of Development Technologist you must be degree educated as a minimum in materials science, chemistry, polymer chemistry or a similar subject. You must also have experience in industry in working with resins.


Role requirements:

  1. Degree educated in materials science, polymer chemistry, chemistry or a closely related subject. PhD highly desirable.
  2. Previous industrial experience in working with composite materials. Ideally, 2+ years and for aerospace or automotive applications.
  3. Hands on experience with various analytical techniques used for resin development and formulation.
  4. Any experience in being able to develop prepreg formulations is beneficial for the role.

Role responsibilities:

  1. Lead and deliver R&D projects within time and budget scope.
  2. Identify new potential technological improvements and areas of potential development in-line with companies business strategy and plans for growth with the aerospace and automotive industry.
  3. Hands-on involvement in product launch and related marketing activities.
  4. Assist the company with the creation of product development objectives.
