The Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) invites applications for the post of Departmental Lecturer in Migration and Development. This is a fixed-term role for one academic year needed to cover the maternity leave of one member of the teaching team of the MSc in Migration Studies, a degree jointly run by ODID and Oxford’s School of Anthropology (SAME).
This post is offered full time and fixed term for 12 months beginning in September 2025. The successful applicant will hold a PhD/DPhil in a relevant social science discipline, with a strong focus on migration or other forms of human mobility. They will also have the requisite experience to instruct high-achieving and challenging graduate students in a multi-disciplinary environment including student assessments, examinations, and course design. A strong knowledge of issues relevant to migration studies, and the ability to lead a course on migration and development are essential for this role.
