What to expect

We are seeking a governance focused cybersecurity specialist at the Assistant Manager/Manager level to join our dynamic and growing team. You'll work alongside cyber security and counter-fraud experts, contributing to a growing team that supports businesses to remain resilient to cyber attacks and respond effectively during incidents. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of cybersecurity engagements with different clients across a range of sectors.

This role is ideal for an individual with a good understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and governance practices. It would be preferable, but not essential, for the individual to have some experience working in the financial services area, within the insurance or pensions sectors, either in-house or as an advisor. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our client's cybersecurity strategy aligns with regulatory requirements and is appropriate for their business objectives.

The successful candidate will combine technical knowledge, governance expertise, and a collaborative mindset to strengthen our client's cybersecurity postures and be prepared to respond in the event of an incident.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Interpret cyber security concepts into plain English
  2. Identify and assess cyber security risks at clients and recommend measures to manage and mitigate them
  3. Draft cyber security policies and procedures to manage cyber resilience and respond in the event of an incident
  4. Work with suppliers to identify vulnerabilities in software, systems and networks
  5. Assess cyber security risks across client's supply chains
  6. Project management and coordination of other team members
  7. Preparation of high-quality client reports
  8. Preparation of client proposals with Director/Partner
  9. Coordinate with external suppliers
  10. Participate in driving the team's business plan
  11. Manage key client relationships and explore opportunities to build our pipeline
  12. Contribute to developing the team's strategy and service offering with Director/Partner
  13. Deliver a high standard of services to our clients
  14. Help grow our network of key contacts (External and within Crowe Global)
  15. Participate in the team's marketing initiatives

Key skills:
  1. Ability to identify and assess cyber threats facing small, medium and large organisations across a range of sectors
  2. Knowledge of prevalent and emerging cyber threats to organisations
  3. High standard of written English to draft detailed client reports
  4. Attention to detail
  5. High level written and verbal communication skills facilitating key client and stakeholder management
  6. Collegial and team-oriented
  7. Calm and focused under pressure and tight timelines
  8. Thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to manage competing priorities and projects
  9. Ability to present to groups of individuals
  10. Ability to work efficiently and independently to a high standard
  11. Advanced MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook

Qualifications and understanding:
  1. Knowledge of key standards related to cyber security
  2. Familiar with key information/cyber security frameworks e.g. NIST CSF, ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials
  3. Governance-related cyber security accreditations are desirable e.g. CISMP, CISM, CISSP, CompTIA A+
  4. Awareness of key regulatory and compliance requirements e.g. DORA, NIS2
