We exist to help young people thrive by equipping them with the tools to successfully navigate life and increase resilience.

At Spark2Life we are looking for a Caseworker Mentor to come and join our ever-growing organisation.

Core Job Description

A Spark2Life Casework Mentor works with young people and adults who:

1. Are at risk of involvement in criminal activity and/or high-harm crime
2. Have a history of involvement in criminal activity and/or high-harm crime

The Role

As a Spark2Life Casework Mentor you:

1. Take on a caseload of up to 15 young people and/or adults (11-30yrs old) who are known to the Youth Justice System (YJS) or Probation
2. Deliver bespoke 1:1 mentoring sessions looking at clients' values, beliefs, behaviour and reasoning skills
3. Provide clients on your caseload with advocacy, information and support with problem solving
4. Motivate clients to access positive opportunities towards change
5. Source pathways for education, training and employment
6. Work with clients in the community or visit them at home, in school or in prison
7. Provide regular updates to clients' professional network
8. Attend professionals meetings with partners and external agencies
9. Support clients' families by signposting to suitable services
10. Keep clear and up-to-date case work files on the information management system
11. Monitor the progress of clients using tools provided by Spark2Life
12. Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of projects
13. Deliver grant funded programmes that fall in line with your job description

Person Specification

1. Excellent level of communication and interpersonal skills
2. Evidence of key competencies in literacy and numeracy with at least a qualification at GCSE grade C, NVQ level 2, or equivalent
