As a Case Progression Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the provision of accurate, timely and high-quality case files to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). The role involves providing advice and guidance about case file content and the input and transfer of information between record management systems. You will be a key point of contact between investigating officers and the CPS, helping to ensure cases progress efficiently through the CJS. At times, the environment can be fast-paced, requiring you to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a victim-focused approach and delivering high-quality service.

What you’ll do:
  1. Work closely with investigating officers to ensure timely and accurate file submissions.
  2. Offer guidance and advice to help ensure case files meet the required content and standards.
  3. Identify any issues or gaps in case files, helping to improve quality and efficiency in the progression of a case file.
  4. Using a records management system, you will prepare, review and transfer case files to the CPS, adhering to set criteria and service level agreements.
  5. Act as a key point of contact between individuals, teams, and agencies, applying your knowledge of relevant policy and legislation.
What we’re looking for:
  1. Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  2. Ability to manage multiple cases in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  4. Experience using computer systems to update and exchange information.
  5. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
  6. Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and liaise with key stakeholders.
