Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Behaviour Support Manager to start work immediately in secondary schools! Could you be the right candidate for this role?

Job Title: Behavior Support Manager

Location: Newport

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30

Pay: £110 - £115 a day

Start: ASAP

As a Behaviour Support Manager, you would play a crucial role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for students. You will be responsible for managing a classroom in the absence of a teacher, ensuring that pupils focus on the pre-prepared work you will have handed out and managing the behaviour of the classroom.

Key Qualities and Skills:

  1. Empathy and Understanding: Being able to relate to the students' challenges and provide calm, reassuring support is essential.
  2. Resilience: Working with students who have behavioural issues can be challenging, so having a strong sense of resilience will help you navigate difficult situations effectively.
  3. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with class teachers and other staff is vital to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting the students. Good communication and teamwork skills will enhance this collaboration.
  4. Adaptability: Each child is unique, and being flexible in your approaches to meet their individual needs will contribute to their success.
  5. Patience: Working with pupils who may struggle with their emotions or learning can require a lot of patience and understanding.
  6. Promoting a Positive Atmosphere: Encouraging a positive learning environment and reinforcing good behaviour will help students thrive.
  7. Behaviour Management Strategies: Knowledge of and experience with various behaviour management techniques can be beneficial in helping students manage their conduct.

Job Requirements:

  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can help you obtain this)
  • To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
  • Two professional references covering 24 months

Experience working with children is desirable, but we welcome applications from individuals with personal experience or those willing to fully engage and develop skills in this area.
