Job description

At Sikorsky, we're reinvigorating our focus on continuous improvement within Operations. The Sikorsky Avionics Product Center plays a vital role, focusing on the manufacture, procurement, and assembly of helicopter wire harness, electrical panels and electrical components. We are looking for a passionate and transformative Continuous Improvement Lead to help drive our mission forward.

THE WORK

As a Continuous Improvement Lead, you will be instrumental in identifying and implementing initiatives that propel our productivity and quality to new heights. Supporting the Avionics department at the Stratford location, you’ll work with manufacturing operations, quality, engineering and other support functions to collaboratively identify opportunities, develop new technology insertions and deliver on critical needs for the manufacturing floor.

Your role will involve:

  1. Delivering ‘CI Framework’ Project Outcomes: Lead the successful execution of our CI framework, ensuring project results align with business objectives.
  2. Executing CI Events: Facilitate events to pinpoint improvement opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and drive impactful changes across business areas.
  3. Championing CI Projects: Lead the adoption of CI trackers, ensuring projects remain on course for successful execution.
  4. Training Teams: Provide training to Operational Excellence Teams (OETs) on Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including PDCA and DIVE techniques.
  5. Identifying Cost Improvements: Work with teams to recognize and prioritize cost-saving opportunities.
  6. Develop and Maintain visual management system: Working closely with the manufacturing team, identify new opportunities to improve and enhance visual factory on the floor.
  7. Digital/Technology insertion: Lead digital transformative projects that reshape the production process and improve the floor efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  2. Considered an emerging authority.
  3. Familiar with lean Six Sigma/Agile Principles, workflow time studies, and project management.
  4. Familiar with databases, data mining, and data analytics.
  5. Experience in programming, familiar with Python, Java, R, etc.
  6. Experience in visualization and analytics tools, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, etc.
  7. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  1. Familiar with continuous improvement tools: SAP, Solumina, JIRA, Confluence.
  2. Familiar with SharePoint development.
  3. Strong Organization skills including attention to details.
  4. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to address and resolve issues.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
