Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Assembly Technician to work on vehicle assembly and test based out of our state-of-the-art facility in Merthyr Tydfil. This role will be on a 9 month FTC basis.

You'll be working to strict specifications, procedures, schematics and engineering drawings on projects critical to the MOD. Required skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Assembly Technician, Armoured Vehicle Technician / Aircraft Assembly Technician, Mechanical Fitter or similar role.
  • Ability to complete set ups and perform quality and performance testing.
  • Ability to work from written instructions with limited supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment with high accuracy.
  • Ability to liaise with the test support, engineering and Quality functions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are mitigated.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Understanding of “clean as you go”/6S/FOD/Tool control programs mandatory.
  • Experienced with quality inspection points and process documentation.
  • A very high level of health and safety awareness.
  • Must be able to take direction well and is a strong team player.
  • Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills and problem-solving skills.
