We are a small, collaborative, international team, handling a large volume of high-quality research, review and opinion submissions to drive thought leadership across all medical specialties. About the Role

As an In-House Senior Editor, you will oversee the creation and publication of original content. You will take ownership for overseeing submissions and quality peer reviews to ensure we publish high-quality content. You will build global relationships with people and institutes in the medical and research fields.

Responsibilities

1. Arranging peer review and commissioning content;
2. Scanning medical literature and news to keep up-to-date with developments;
3. Attending conferences and academic meetings, along with laboratory and institutional visits;
4. Writing editorials, commissioning reviews and commentaries and publishing correspondence to build the journal’s profile among the communities we serve;
5. Subediting material from all sections of our journal to improve clarity of expression and to conform to journal style;
6. Suggesting and helping to develop new initiatives for future developments and enhancements to our journal.

Requirements

1. Have a Medical degree with clinical experience or PhD in related field with postdoctoral experience;
2. Demonstrate great knowledge of biological and medical sciences;
3. Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner;
4. Be able to communicate and negotiate constructively with members of the medical profession, the media and colleagues;
5. Have proficiency with IT systems including MS Office;
6. Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on-time;
7. Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community;
8. Be able to travel internationally for meetings and conferences.
