Workplace Assistance (f/m/d) for a Natural Scientist in a Leadership Role

Our department focuses on developing next-generation solar cell technologies, with an emphasis on automation and robotics. Our research includes high-efficiency photovoltaics, and we collaborate with leading laboratories and universities worldwide to push the boundaries of solar energy research.
As a workplace assistant (f/m/d) for a leading PhD scientist with specific limitations in communicative and interactive abilities, you will play a key role in supporting administrative, organizational, as well as communicative and interactive tasks within the department. Your key responsibilities include:
- Administrative, organizational, communicative, and interactive support for the scientific leader, including reading aloud, writing assistance, helping with the understanding of nonverbal cues and unstructured, spontaneous communication, etc.
- Support in collaboration with employees, including moderating discussions, conflict resolution, personnel matters, and acting as an intermediary between the leader and external partners
- Planning, organizing, and follow-up of appointments, meetings, and events, with a particular focus on setting clear discussion objectives and establishing structured work routines
- Assistance with correspondence, budget planning, and coordination of project tasks
- Creation and maintenance of documentation, reports, and presentations
- General secretarial tasks, such as handling office-related processes (incoming/outgoing/internal mail circulation, filing and follow-up, travel planning, travel expense accounting, and guest reception)
Your profile
- Completed commercial training or a comparable qualification
- Professional experience in an assistant or similar position, ideally in a scientific or research-related environment
- Experience or additional qualification in working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with similar neurodivergences, or a willingness to further educate oneself in this field
- Strong organizational skills, independent working style, and a keen sense of prioritization
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of empathy, particularly in relation to the specific requirements of the position
- Proficiency in MS Office and ideally knowledge of digital project management tools
- Fluent (business-proficient) German and English skills, both written and spoken

Fixed term contract for 24 months. The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD-Bund).
