Your chance to join Northwave, one of Europe's leading security service providers.
For more than 18 years, we have specialised in protecting companies from cyber attacks. With our integrated services, which combine people, processes and technology, we are one of the leading providers in Europe.
As part of our Student Programme, we are looking for motivated working students who want to start their career in the security industry. As part of the Security Operations Centre (SOC), you will handle our customers' daily alarms and security incidents. This means that you will receive incoming alarms, analyse them, process them independently or as part of a team, depending on their type and complexity, or escalate them internally to your colleagues.
We are looking for students who can support us in incident handling for one or two full days a week. This takes place in shifts during normal office hours. Of course, we make sure that your working days and availability are compatible with your studies. Shifts are always organised on a mutual basis. We are also happy to help you find a topic for your thesis. In our Cyber Fusion Centre, we combine our extensive industry knowledge, our research into the latest threats and technologies and our experience from working with our customers.
You will be given an employment contract with flexible working hours. Therefore, your working hours will always be coordinated in consultation with you and taking your semester schedule into account. We also offer you an attractive hourly wage (15,96 Euro/h).
Our office is equipped with Apple devices, height-adjustable desks and a fridge that is always stocked with cold drinks. Oh yes, and there's regular Northwave merch, as well as cakes and Dutch caramel waffles.
At Northwave, you will be part of an international team of 275+ security enthusiasts who are happy to share their knowledge and look forward to support, e.g. at the company run or the pub quiz. In Germany, we are still in the process of being established - so this is your chance to help shape the future.
You can already gain work experience during your studies. In the DACH region, we are currently still under construction - literally. We are currently building a new headquarters. We will be happy to support you with your thesis and discuss your entry and career opportunities at Northwave.
The most important thing for us is that you fit into the team and are keen to help shape and advance Northwave. Of course, we also have a few technical requirements for this position.
You are studying cyber security, IT forensics or computer science, ideally with a specialisation in IT security.
You have already gained some experience, e.g. as part of an internship or a previous apprenticeship. Perhaps you enjoy taking part in CTFs in your spare time and reading the latest ThreatResponses.
You are still studying for at least two semesters and have the time and desire to work one to two full days a week in our office in Leipzig. You are fluent in German and advanced in English. And most importantly: you are interested in cyber security and a professional and modern corporate environment.
I look forward to receiving your application.
