Your responsibilities and tasks:

We are looking for a passionate Working Student - Real Estate Data Analyst. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The principal focus of the Real Estate (RE) Data Analyst is for work with existing data sets and looking for and gaining access to supporting data.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

The RE Data Analyst interacts closely with the GEA RE team and Head of Real Estate. This position plays an important part in business relationship management by supplying accurate, timely and relevant data analysis, findings for various RE deliverables, turning data analysis insight into business decisions.

KEY TASKS:

  • Interpret data, analyze results, create and provide ongoing reports.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Update existing data sets and data bases and implement databases, data collection systems and data analytics.
  • Develop metrics and score cards.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing existing reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct data problems.
  • Work with RE management team to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Performance reporting and analysis including comments on variances and determination of corrective actions with the regional RE management to recover from any adverse financial impact pertaining to the plan.
  • Advise regional RE management in all data issues.
  • Prepare periodic reporting and presentations.

Your profile and qualifications:

Personal Profile:

Student studying for a university degree (BS/BA/BSc) or similar courses, in Real Estate, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Finance/Accounting. Potentially in the 3rd/4th year. Needs to be available 15-20 hours per week. The position is within the Corporate Real Estate function with responsibilities for looking across property assets, leasing, facility management, operational/capital expense and finance data.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Diligent, hardworking, complete tasks on time.
  • Team player with ability to work in a fast-moving environment and the ability to prioritize and analyze complex matters (both numerical and verbal) and make logical conclusions.
  • Develop a network of people, communicate openly and share information across boundaries to improve performance.
  • Organize and carry out projects and tasks independently and efficiently optimizing the use of resources to achieve a goal.
  • Recognizes how metrics, scorecards and business measures can be applied to achieve continuous improvement and learning.
  • Propose and execute efficiency improvement actions.
  • Collect and recognize relevant data and important information for problem solving and decision making.
  • Adept at managing queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint. ThinkCell, accounting and financial knowledge would be a benefit, but not a necessity.
  • Fluent in English. Ability to listen and express orally and in writing.

INTERFACES AND REPORTING:

Key Interfaces: With the Regional Portfolio Managers, the Functional Heads and the Head of Real Estate, other as necessary to carry out duties.

Reporting: Reports directly to the Head of Real Estate.
