Web Developer - Shopify

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Web Developer with strong Shopify experience to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining e-commerce websites built on Shopify, ensuring exceptional user experiences and seamless functionality.

You can work remotely either from Germany or from the UK for this position.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building scalable e-commerce solutions, understands the ins and outs of the Shopify platform, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities

• You will develop and maintain Shopify themes and custom features
• You will build custom Shopify apps or modify existing ones
• You will collaborate with designers and e-commerce managers to implement website functionality and design
• You will ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• You will optimize website performance, speed, and SEO
• You will integrate third-party tools and APIs (e.g., payment gateways, CRM, inventory systems)
• You will troubleshoot and debug site issues
• You will stay updated on the latest Shopify features, trends, and best practices

Your Profile

• You have 2+ years of experience in web development
• You have proven experience working with Shopify and Shopify Plus
• You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
• You have strong knowledge of Liquid (Shopify's templating language)
• You are proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
• You have experience with Shopify APIs and third-party app integrations
• You are familiar with version control (e.g., Git)
• You have an understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles
• You have basic knowledge of SEO best practices
• You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• You have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to Have

• You have experience with headless commerce or JAMstack using Shopify
• You have knowledge of other e-commerce tools (Klaviyo, Yotpo and Google Suite)
• You have UI/UX design skills or experience working with Figma/Adobe XD
• You are familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
