The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences of Kiel University together with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy invites applications for a W 3-Professorship for Economics of Global Transformations to start at the earliest possible time or date.
The future job holder shall be responsible for the subject area Economics of Global Transformations in research and teaching.
The professorship will be filled according to the Jülich model (leave of absence model). It involves a full-time (100%) assignment to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and a reduced teaching load of two weekly hours per semester at the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Sciences of Kiel University (Christian-Albrechts-Universität).
We are looking for an economist with a proven track record and publications in leading international journals, as well as an excellent international research network. The successful candidate will spearhead the institute’s research on the simultaneous transformations that the global economy is facing. More specifically, we are seeking to hire a scholar whose work spans more than one research field relevant to the Economics of Global Transformations, for example:
Ideally, the candidate has interest and experience in leading a research group and translating research into policy advice. Experience in postgraduate program development or implementation is considered a plus.
