The Vice President of Legal (m/f/d) will oversee the company's legal affairs and provide legal guidance to the executive team. This role requires a proactive leader with extensive experience in corporate law, compliance, and risk management. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a thorough understanding of regulatory environments, and the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
YOUR POSITION IN OUR TEAM
- Lead and manage the legal department, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide expert legal advice on corporate governance, commercial law with customers and vendors, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance of Sport Alliance’s regulated subsidiary Finion Capital GmbH.
- Drive legal-related processes across Sport Alliance and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to legal standards, process efficiency, and best practices.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and protect the company’s interests.
- Oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes, including managing external counsel.
- Stay up to date on legal developments and industry trends to proactively address potential challenges.
- Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
- Manage a growing internal legal team and external counsel.
The role reports to Sport Alliance’s Chief Financial Officer.
YOUR PROFILE
- A degree in law and completed legal clerkship (first and second state exam) in Germany (fully qualified lawyer).
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a corporate environment within the digital sector, with a focus on communication and technology law (IT law), data protection law, as well as applied experience in contract and general civil law.
- Advanced experience in corporate law with extensive international implications.
- Proven track record of success in a leadership role within a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Experienced in utilizing modern software technology (including Salesforce) to manage legal and commercial operations efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- An eye for the big picture: an understanding of economic and organizational contexts.
