General Summary

The Vice President, Group Sales - Europe will develop and implement sales strategies, tools and actions to optimize sales revenue generation from accounts in the European region with distribution of bookings across the PH&R Global portfolio. These efforts are critical to building brand awareness amongst corporate, incentive, and third-party meeting planners for all PH&R hotel members. The Vice President, Group Sales - Europe will be responsible for oversight and development of the European Group Sales Team while also focusing on securing business thru new business development and key accounts.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

Under the general supervision of the Senior Vice President, Global Sales - Group, the Vice President, Group Sales - Europe, works with the Executive Vice President, Europe, Account Managers, Group Sales Directors/Managers, the Marketing department; the Vice President, Corporate Meetings & Events; finance department, Global Sales team and hotel members; and clients.


Duties & Responsibilities


Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed group revenue and tactical targets for the European region.
  • Oversee and develop the European Group Sales Team to drive success.
  • Ensure diversification through new business development (NBD) strategies and potential regional partnerships.

Leadership & Oversight

  • Directly supervise Group Sales Directors, Sales Managers, and the Europe Group Desk. Maintain a functional supervisory relationship to multi-segment sellers where group sales constitute a portion of their job duties.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management for the European group sales team.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans as needed.

Client Engagement & Revenue Generation

  • Generate business from direct clients, third-party planners, and strategic partners.
  • On-board new members (and re-educate existing members as needed) on best practices for partnering with the Preferred GSO.
  • Participate in regional tradeshows, client events, and brand showcases.
  • Achieve personal production goals as established by the Senior Vice President, Global Sales - Group, including securing business from new accounts.

Internal Collaboration & Support

  • Collaborate with Executive Vice Presidents, Regional Directors and hotel teams to foster key relationships and optimize opportunities and revenue.
  • Provide suggested actions to maximize engagement to leverage the collective strength of the partnership.
  • Cross-sell globally with team members.

Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain records within CRM and PreferredNet Member Portal.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities and performance.
  • Partner with the Senior Vice President, Global Sales - Group on annual budget development for the European region.
  • Follow financial reporting procedure.

Travel Requirements

  • Execute and/or attend industry events, FAM trips, and regional tradeshows.
  • Visit hotels and clients across Europe to build familiarity and relationships.

Success Metrics

  • Group revenue targets and tactical goals achieved/exceeded.
  • Team goals met across all segments.
  • Strengthened client and hotel relationships.
  • Effective implementation of the Ambassador Program and strategic SOPs.

Qualifications

Completion of a university/college degree program and/or 10 years of hotel related experience; strong analytical and organizational skills to plan and prioritize work; strong interpersonal skills; ability to advise and work effectively with others; excellent written and verbal skills; knowledge of the hospitality industry and the ability to exercise good judgment in associate relations. Ability to communicate and guide member hotels on all sales initiatives.


WORKING CONDITIONS

This role follows a hybrid working model, with a base out of one of the following Preferred Travel Group office locations: Munich or London. Associates are generally expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working. Office space is beautifully as well as functionally decorated including all required technology tools. Employee is seated most of the time. Travel is estimated at approximately 35-50% of time as appropriate to support the overall expectation of the position.
