Job Overview

The purpose of this position, Upstream Supply Chain Operations & Logistics BPE (business process expert), is to drive operational excellence, optimization of E2E supply chain processes, from supplier management to inbound logistics, ensuring alignment with strategic procurement objectives, while reducing total supply chain costs by enhancing agility and responsiveness.

The role emphasizes improving supplier lead times, minimizing MOQ, and increasing transportation efficiency, all while ensuring alignment with TE's global supply chain strategy and regional practices.

Main Tasks:

Transformation and Leadership

  • Support and contribute to establishing best-in-class supplier relationship and risk management (SRM), operations and logistics process.
  • Benchmark internal and external best practices to identify opportunities for improvement in supplier Lead Time, MOQ reduction and inbound logistics.
  • Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-regional teams to standardize processes and systems, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

End-to-End Supplier Inventory Flow and Efficiency

  • Design, measure, analyze, implement, control, and standardize processes to structure supplier lead time (LT) and MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) to drive purchased inventory reduction and health.
  • Support creating the framework for contractual agreements, in liaison with procurement, to regulate MOQs, INCOTERMS, Lead Times, Stock policies, ordering scenarios (SBB) and capacity commitments.
  • Develop tools, KPIs, and governance frameworks to track and improve supplier efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce supplier-related inventory risks and costs.
  • Collaborate with logistics and transportation teams to streamline transit times and optimize inventory in transit by ship lane and mode.
  • Support implementation of Track & Trace (LBN tool) for trade inbound shipments in collaboration with GLOG and regional transportation organizations.
  • Co-Lead initiatives to optimize inbound logistics processes, including transportation network design and mode selection optimization.
  • Partner with regional logistics teams to standardize inbound logistics processes and reduce costs.
  • Drive efficiency in cross-border logistics operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement tools and metrics to measure inbound logistics performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Supplier Performance and Collaboration

  • Establish and govern supplier operational performance metrics, focusing on lead times, MOQ, and logistics efficiency.
  • Establish and benchmark processes for supplier capacity commitments through Supply ON to enhance visibility of procured supply.
  • Collaborate with “Upstream supply chain integration & transformation BPE” to ensure supplier capability development and alignment with TE's supply chain goals, co-develop supplier performance scorecards and dashboards to enhance visibility and accountability.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers through procurement and region to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Process Standardization and System Integration

  • Lead the standardization of supplier operations and logistics processes and master data across regions to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Support the integration of supplier operations processes into SupplyOn and SAP S4/Hana, ensuring alignment with global E2E supply chain and regions.
  • Identify, develop, and implement tools and systems to enhance supplier operations and logistics efficiency.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

  • Work closely with “upstream supply chain integration and collaboration BPE” to align on supplier capability development and shared initiatives and playbook.
  • Participate in global sharing platforms, best practice workshops, and forums to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of one-source-of-truth analytics for supplier operations and logistics.
  • Share insights and learnings across regions to drive operational excellence and innovation.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of upstream supply chain planning experience, including S&OE, S&OP, Business Planning, and additional experience in operations, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Very strong system and process background across E2E Supply Chain from Supplier Integration to Customer Delivery.
  • 5 or more years of leadership experience of cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP, SAP IBP, or relevant end-to-end planning tool in a global planning environment.
  • APICS, Lean certification, IBF or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic and tactical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong experience with matrix organizations.
  • Cross-cultural experience with leading global teams.
  • Very strong knowledge of operations/manufacturing systems, including quality methods and MRPII concepts.
  • Travel of 25-35% required.
