The position of Information Security Officer (f/m/d)

The Federal Court of Justice - Karlsruhe Office - is seeking to fill the following position as soon as possible:

The post of Information Security Officer (f/m/d) is to be filled for a limited period of two years.

The Federal Court of Justice with headquarters in Karlsruhe intends to revise the existing information security management system and establish a new information security management system.

The tasks include in particular:

  1. Participation and coordination in the development, updating, enactment, and implementation of an information security concept and information security guidelines, including the associated quality management in connection with the areas of IT security, IT secret protection, and IT sabotage protection;
  2. Implementation of protection requirement analyses in cooperation with other internal departments;
  3. Applying risk management methods and developing processes for IT risk management and dealing with IT emergencies;
  4. Taking the lead in establishing an ISMS (Information Management System) and participating in the areas of IT security, business continuity management, and IT risk management;
  5. Advising company management and subordinate departments on information security issues, including participation in projects that impact information security;
  6. Preparation, coordination, and implementation of awareness-raising and training measures in connection with information security;
  7. Acting as an IT secret protection / IT sabotage protection officer;
  8. Analysis of IT security incidents;
  9. Reporting on the status quo of information security to company management, the BSI, and other external bodies.

We are interested in applicants who combine the following qualities and skills:

  1. Successfully completed university education (Dipl.-Ing. (FH) or Bachelor) in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, administrative informatics, engineering, or natural sciences) and professional experience in IT or IT security/information security. Alternatively, a proven, comparable qualification;
  2. Certification in IT security (e.g., according to ISO 27001, IT basic protection according to BSI) as well as knowledge in dealing with the classified information directive (VSA) or material secret protection;
  3. Experience in dealing with management systems, ideally ISMS according to IT-Grundschutz according to BSI or ISO 27001, as well as knowledge of risk management and BCM; alternatively, knowledge of the ISO 9000 series of standards;
  4. Above-average professional assessments or references;
  5. Ability to work independently and conceptually, with a structured, careful, and punctual way of working;
  6. A pronounced willingness to take responsibility, confident decision-making behavior, and a high level of communicative and methodical competence for the convincing presentation of complex issues to internal and external discussion partners in German, as well as the ability to work together in a results-oriented manner;
  7. High motivation and ability to work under pressure;
  8. Confident and friendly demeanor and polite manners;
  9. Ability to work in a team;
  10. Experience in dealing with external service providers is desirable;
  11. Experience in project management and conducting audits is an advantage.

In the case of employees covered by collective agreements, the intention is to employ them on a temporary basis based on the collective agreement for the federal public service (TVöD Bund). Taking into account personal and collective agreement requirements and subject to examination in individual cases, remuneration up to pay group 12, and prospectively up to pay group E 13 of the federal pay scale may be considered.

Civil servants can apply up to pay grade A 13 and are employed in the career path of the higher non-technical administrative service as part of a 2-year secondment.

Employees also receive a so-called supreme court allowance, which currently amounts to € 275 gross per month for the applicant group. Further financial incentives are not excluded as part of the recruitment of specialist staff and depending on the applicant situation.

You must be willing to undergo a security check in accordance with the Act on the Requirements and Procedure for Federal Security Checks (Security Check Act - SÜG). The result of the check must not conflict with the job advertised.
