The Technologist Dairy / Non-Dairy (m/f/d) is responsible for developing innovative and high-quality products in the dairy and non-dairy sectors, focusing on the UK market. This role involves advancing technical and raw material knowledge, executing development projects in the pilot plant, customer presentations, and up-scaling from idea creation to large production trials.
Core Responsibilities:
- Implement corporate strategy in the development area as per the Development Manager's requirements
- Develop new products (me-too and innovation) and technologies in the dairy/non-dairy sector, focusing on the UK market
- Advance technical and raw material knowledge in the dairy/non-dairy sector
- Execute cost re-engineering projects in collaboration with sales and procurement for existing customers and internal projects
- Manage development projects in the dairy sector, coordinating with sales on priorities for the UK sales area
- Provide technical support and advice to customers and prospects
- Ensure documentation of all development activities, including projects, recipes, results, and stabilization systems in the dairy/non-dairy sector
- Maintain constant communication between the Development Center in the UK and Germany
- Plan and coordinate training programs at the Development Center UK
- Support quality control by checking the functionality of stabilization systems
- Ensure compliance with company policies, focusing on food safety (HACCP plan, allergen management, personal hygiene, industrial cleaning, hazardous substances), environmental aspects, and customer-specific requirements (Halal, RSPO, Kosher, VLOG)
- Address any issues that could result in product nonconformity or customer complaints
Qualified candidates will have:
Mandatory requirements:
- Degree in Food Science or other Food related science discipline
- Excellent understanding of food science, industrial food processes, and interactions between different food ingredients or ingredient systems
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Proven hands-on experience of running projects in a pilot plant environment
- Ability to travel approximately 25%, mainly between the UK and Germany
Desirable requirements:
- B2B food industry experience
- Experience in dairy process technology
- Work experience in an international team and matrix organization
