Stackpole International is a globally operating company of the Johnson Electric Group. In Germany, in our Aachen development center, our team works on the development of hydraulic systems and sintered metal applications for the automotive industry and industrial applications.

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the systems engineering department, supporting global project teams. System design, system architecture, requirement handling, system and component testing, and customer contact are part of the daily business, leading to the creation of highly integrated mechatronic systems.

You will be part of a cross-functional team, focusing on the integration of hydraulic systems for the automotive industry by combining oil-pumps with brushless motors, controllers, software, and additional components depending on the target application.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop mechatronic systems according to the V-Model in compliance with automotive standards.
  2. Requirement Analysis: understand system requirements on a multi-disciplinary level; define sub-systems and interfaces.
  3. System Development: design and develop systems and system architectures.
  4. System Integration: collaborate with global teams to integrate hydraulics, electronics, and software.
  5. Testing and Validation: support in defining the testing strategy and scope; support on system and integration level.
  6. Collaboration: work closely with customer and inter-company development teams.

Our Requirements:

  1. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
  2. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and ability to create, interpret schematics and diagrams.
  3. Able to navigate in CAD systems.
  4. Able to understand FEA and CFD results.
  5. Practical experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  6. Solid experience in common development tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink).
  7. Familiarity with tools which manage requirements (e.g. Doors, Helix) is a plus.
  8. Proficiency in English AND German (both spoken and written).
  9. Excellent team player with a 'can do' and 'hands on' attitude.
  10. Excellent communications and problem-solving skills.
  11. Excellent understanding of physical principles.
  12. Ability to set and follow own milestones.
