Systems Administrator

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator supporting U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS program Team.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure including managing servers, ensuring system availability and implementing solutions to improve system performance and security.

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

1. Supports the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.
2. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
3. Manages the Active Directory, and other core IT services.
4. Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
5. Performs maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups.
6. Plans and executes systems upgrades and hardware/software installations.
7. Ensures systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.
8. Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
9. Conducts security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements.
10. Manages and tests backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
11. Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services.
12. Participates in disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning.
13. Provides support to end users and other IT staff by resolving hardware, software and system related issues.
14. Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes.
15. Creates reports on system performance, security incidents and other key metrics.
16. Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.
17. May assist in the development of IT policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Security Clearance Required: Secret Clearance

Education: Bachelors degree; additional years of experience can be substituted for Degree requirement

Experience: 5+ years Systems Administrator experience

Certification: Must possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification

Must be able to pass German TESA

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
