Sustainability Manager (m/f/d) Private Labels

Our Sustainability Private Labels team in Berlin is supporting AY Private Label brands to reach sustainability goals on time. As a Sustainability Manager (m/f/d) Private Labels you will work closely on the core of our sustainability strategy together with our Corporate Sustainability team. You will be actively responsible for our sustainability strategy, as well as taking care of sustainable standards and certifications.

Responsibilities

1. Further develop our sustainability strategy in order to reach our Scope 3 GHG goals
2. Monitor our Material Sustainability criteria and assortment, by calculating the monthly sustainable materials share, and track suppliers’ transaction certificates and other related KPIs
3. Monitor the environmental impact and transparency in our supply chain, working together with our suppliers and factories
4. Proactively check current and upcoming regulations and reliably translating new legal requirements to our business. Implementing action plans with internal and external stakeholders to reduce risks and capitalize on opportunities
5. Work together with our corporate sustainability team to add our KPIs into our yearly ESG report
6. Supporting in developing sourcing strategies with buyers and suppliers, creating sustainability trainings for buyers and product developers
7. Prepare and conduct company audits and manage company memberships with various organizations and products seals
8. Managing external service providers, certification bodies and garment producers
9. Work closely with one Junior Sustainability Manager

Requirements

1. University degree (or any other comparable education) in Clothing Technology, Fashion Management, or International Business Management with very high interest for sustainability and fashion industry processes
2. More than 2 years experience in Environmental / Sustainability. Experience in buying/sourcing, consulting or product management are a plus
3. Proficient MS office and Project Management skills
4. Analytical skills in order to work with data (Excel, databases, dashboards) to derive insights and use them for transformation processes
5. High sense of ownership. Mindset to solve a variety of problems and interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders
6. Knowledge of sustainability certifications and criteria
7. Strong personality to work in a fast-moving scale-up environment and to adapt quickly on daily challenges and changes, with proactive and hands-on mentality
8. Excellent English language skills, German an advantage
