Our client is an exceptional retailer, well-known in the world of Grocery Retail. They are award-winning and are expanding after completing a huge revamp. They are seeking a talented General Manager to lead their supermarket operations in Cork.

Position Overview:

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the supermarket, driving performance, and leading a team of 80-100 staff members. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in grocery supermarket operations, experience with store revamps, and a proven ability to manage a large store of up to 20,000 sq ft.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, adherence to company standards, and an exceptional customer experience.
• Manage and execute store revamp projects to enhance layout and improve customer engagement.
• Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and implement strategic initiatives.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with department heads to optimise inventory management and merchandising strategies.
• Develop budgets, forecast sales, and control costs to achieve financial targets.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a grocery supermarket management role, with a strong understanding of operations.
• Experience managing teams of 80-100 staff members in a retail environment.
• Demonstrated success in managing store revamps and projects.
• Experience managing a supermarket of 20,000 square feet or larger.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with sales forecasting and budgeting.
