Who we are ...
Our primary focuses at Fraunhofer IWES are on wind energy and hydrogen technologies. Our institute is home to more than 300 scientists and employees as well as over 100 students from over 30 countries pursuing careers in applied research and development at nine sites. We secure investments in technological developments through validation, shorten innovation cycles, accelerate certification procedures, and increase planning accuracy by means of innovative measurement methods.
Do you want to join our team and help shape the future of wind and hydrogen technologies? Great, as we are always looking for new talents at all our sites!
What you will do
You can contribute to the further development of test benches for large wind turbine components and independently perform tests on them or measuring electrical properties. You can also get involved in material testing or the automation of processes. If you are more interested in testing your methods in the real world, you can run measurement campaigns on wind turbines in the field, prepare and follow up on wind measurement campaigns, or investigate the subsoil offshore. If simulation is more your area, you can run simulations of wind farm sites. For those interested in hydrogen, you can conduct electrochemical investigations of electrolysis and fuel cell components to test their efficiency in operation. We work in close cooperation with industry and other research institutes in the scope of national and international research projects, which means thrilling projects in the administration and technical areas are always waiting for you around the corner. We support each other irrespective of the focus of our work and our backgrounds.
What you bring to the table
Depending on the tasks and research area, a different field of study or professional qualification can be suitable for joining us. If you have completed a degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences, that is a particularly good match for our research fields. A professional qualification in the electrical, IT, or commercial field is also welcome. Experience with wind energy or hydrogen technologies is a plus, whether you are planning to expand your knowledge or want to start your professional career with us. Knowledge of both German and English will make your everyday work easier.
What you can expect
We support you on your professional journey. Whether personally, professionally, or methodically, we find the right qualification measures for you. You will have the opportunity to shape your range of duties actively!
