Purpose of the Job

In charge of Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke for tenders & projects.

Feed the Environmental Management System (ISO14001) with ecodesign input and activities.

Manage & improve environmental performance of products.

Manage weight of the products for tenders and projects.

Performance

Ecodesign activities on tenders & projects. On-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Ecodesign product performance reported in Ecodesign dashboard.

Fire & Smoke project planning.

Inputs for Project Safety Design Reviews - on time and documented.

Responsibilities

1. Definition of requirements for Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke in the projects.
2. Verification of supplier’s deliverables/certificates for Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke.
3. Preparation of reports/documentation according to QCD and Ecodesign/Fire & Smoke processes.
4. Support the team to achieve authorization.
5. Database maintenance to store the evidence.
6. Contribute to the local Ecodesign commitment definition and deployment.
7. Support ISO 14001 certification.
8. Launch and follow-up of the project KPI regarding Ecodesign and Fire & Smoke.
9. Deployment of RSC processes.
10. Inform the unit organization about Ecodesign and fire & smoke processes and their changes.
11. Continuous improvements in Ecodesign and fire & smoke processes.
12. Support of CCN activities (Alstom expert network).

Tasks: ECO Design and Hazardous Substances

1. Recyclability calculation.
2. LCA (Life Cycle Analysis).
3. Validate requirements (legal and customer).
4. Define project-specific requirements and distribute in ENG.
5. Add requirements to the parts (e.g. G-Remark) – support.
6. Download BOM from PDM/DMA and add into ENG-RSC-EN-XS-FRM-0018_A – support.
7. Set up MaDaM – support.
8. Continuously update BOM during design stage – support.
9. Add information from SQP and Proc. into ENG-RSC-EN-XS-FRM-0018_A – support.
10. Validate ENG-FRM-001 – support.
11. Upload ENG-FRM-001 in MaDaM – support.
12. Create ENG-FRM-005.

EHS-SGE-MNL-001 with Ecodesign Process ECO-PRO-001 and the related/linked processes.

1. Validate requirements (legal and customer).
2. Define project-specific requirements and distribute in ENG.
3. Add requirements to the parts (e.g. G-Remark) – support.
4. Create a list of all Fire & Smoke relevant parts – support.
5. Validate certificates – support.
6. Upload certificate in MaDaM (when available) – support.
7. Create FCIL – support for projects and platforms.
8. Create a list per project of all parts with invalid certificates and send to Q – support.
9. Create a list per project of all parts with a certificate validity of less than 1 month and send to Proc. – support.
10. Provide trainings for all relevant Metiers on Fire Safety Standards and Specifications.
11. Drive and sharpen the EN45545-2 implementation strategy (e.g. for RTM parts). Strong interface with experts (e.g. Suspension).
12. Support on definition of test samples, also related to “end-use” condition testing.
13. Contribute to standardization groups – at least Alstom internally (to influence future standards).
14. Link to CCN (e.g. for Materials).

Tasks: Weight Management

1. Support PrEMs to create and deliver the Weight Management Reports in time and Alstom Process Quality.
2. Support Product ENGs (Platforms).
3. Spread the ALSTOM Processes to the Products and Projects.
4. Interface to TD Weight Management Metier.

Experience

Ecodesign Engineer / Material Engineer with environmental experience / Mechanical Engineer with material and environmental experience.

Technical background in the railway industry and/or in fire protection or comparable industrial sectors.

Knowledge of international standards and guidelines regarding fire safety.

Good time management and awareness of priorities.

Structured and customer-oriented work.
