The Role

The Solar Project Developer will be pivotal in identifying, developing, and managing solar projects across Germany. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project delivery in alignment with Germany’s energy policies and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter looking to establish a career in renewable energy, with the potential to grow as the company expands its German portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Development: Lead the full development process for solar projects, from site identification and feasibility studies to permitting and grid connection.
2. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, landowners, and communities to secure project buy-in and navigate regulatory requirements.
3. Technical Coordination: Work with engineering and construction teams to optimize project design and timelines.
4. Market Analysis: Stay current on German renewable energy policies, incentives, and market trends to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
5. Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all project documentation complies with local regulations and company standards.
6. Financial Modeling: Support financial modeling and budgeting to assess project feasibility and investment proposals.

About the Candidate

1. Language Skills: Proficiency in German (native or professional level) and English.
2. Experience: 3+ years in renewable energy project development, ideally in solar, with a strong understanding of German energy policies and permitting processes.
3. Education: Degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
4. Skills: Strong project management abilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a high level of organizational aptitude.
5. Passion for Sustainability: A commitment to making a positive impact on the environment and supporting Germany’s renewable energy transition.
6. Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Hamburg, with flexibility to travel as required.
