For our site in Deggendorf we are looking for an experienced Site & Operations Manager (m/f/d) to oversee our processes and lead the local organization. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director EMEA, you will have a multifaceted role where you will ensure that the plants run safely, stably, and sustainably. This role is an ideal challenge for a Site & Operations Manager who is looking for the opportunity to have both local and global impact in one of our Polyurethane business sites.
Your additional tasks as Site & Operations Manager (m/f/d) include:
Site Management & Legal responsibilities for the plant
Functional management responsibilities of Supply Chain, Production, EHS (legal part)
Management of all organizational and Human Resources responsibilities
Interface with the European Supply Chain, Automotive & Elastomer Business Platform, IT, EHS, Finance
Authorized representative for contracts, employment contracts, bank accounts, etc.
Take full legal accountability for ensuring that all activities on site are following legal, regulatory, and company EHS standards
Lead in strengthening the relationships with local authorities, Work Councils, Unions, and other Labour representatives, whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Requirements
A university degree in chemical, production, or plastics engineering and either a Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt or proven experience in Lean Manufacturing principles. Any further business economics education (such as an MBA) is highly desirable.
At least 10 years of experience in managing (Specialty) chemical or plastics plants, with a proven track record in managing team leaders and department managers.
Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels, both internal and external.
Experience in change management and the implementation of organizational change.
Independent way of working, as well as a structured, team- and result-oriented working style.
Experience in cost controlling and managing cost centers.
Lean/Six Sigma and ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ISO 9000, or IATF 16949 knowledge.
Ability to make clear decisions and communicate under stress.
Business fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
A strong appreciation of EHS and a good understanding of German legislation on running a chemical production site.
Basic knowledge of German Human Resource legislation.
