Senior z/OS Infrastructure Performance Consultant (f/m/x)

Your Role and Responsibilities

PURPOSE:
Senior z/OS Infrastructure Performance consultants at IBM support pre-sales, post-sales and consulting activities for the IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS performance analysis software solution. The particular roles and responsibilities will vary depending on the individual’s skills and the business requirements at any particular time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES:

1. In support of sales cycles: Conduct technical aspects of discovery calls, conduct software demonstrations, lead technical aspects of software Proof of Concepts, support all technical aspects of the pre-sales processes.
2. Support the data collection process and/or installation of software for onsite or SaaS implementations.
3. Provide technical account ownership to assigned accounts support all technical aspects of the account.
4. Provide performance analysis of z/OS Systems, DB2, CICS, MQ, WAS, TCP/IP, Disk, Replication or Tape.
5. Consult with assigned prospects and customers to determine performance requirements, processes, analysis, make recommendations, etc.
6. Work with the development teams to communicate assigned customer and prospect requirements.
7. Provide level 2-3 product technical support for assigned customers as needed.
8. Provide technical marketing content as assigned such as white papers, webinars and technical blogs.
9. Pro-actively identify potential performance issues.
10. Identify z/OS Systems efficiency opportunities as required per contract.
11. Develop remediation plans to address performance issues.
12. Train customers on IntelliMagic products and performance best practices.
13. Create product installation guides, white papers, and contribute to technical blogs.
14. Work with the larger team to creatively solve technical and process related challenges in support of customer requirements.

IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS empowers mainframe sites to prevent service disruptions before they occur and utilize measurement data insights to lower costs and optimize business applications.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

1. 10+ years of experience with performance analysis using RMF and SMF data for key areas of the z/OS infrastructure.
2. Knowledge of RMF and SMF performance record types and data collection processes.
3. Knowledge of z/OS Systems, Disk, Tape, Network TCP/IP, zOS Connect, MQ, DB2, CICS.
4. Excellent written and oral communication.
5. Listening effectively.

8. Customer service.
