Overview

1047 Games began with the simple principle that people should have fun while making great games. Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian founded 1047 Games in 2017 in their Stanford dorm room. Their love for arena shooters of the past drove them to create Splitgate, a unique sci-fi first-person shooter that adds portal guns to upend the genre.

At 1047 Games, you’ll find a dedicated team of top-tier talent from some of the world’s biggest gaming and tech companies who share our founders’ vision. We are currently working on a brand new shooter in the Splitgate universe.

What We're Looking For:

  • A passionate art leader: You love to take on difficult, seemingly impossible problems and find creative ways to solve them
  • A hard worker: You enjoy putting in extra effort and know the impact of finishing tasks
  • Passion for gaming: You understand what separates exceptional games from average ones and can create features that benefit the game

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Work closely with Artists and Animators to develop tools that ease their workflows
  • Improve and maintain art production workflows, pipelines, and asset optimization/integration
  • Own any technical issues in art production and resolve them
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to address game performance and memory usage issues
  • Assemble blueprints in Unreal Engine for key assets in the environment, weapons, characters, etc
  • Create complex materials for characters, weapons, and environments
  • Collaborate on tools, workflows, and best practices
  • Diagnose problems related to asset and level creation and support the art and design teams
  • Produce and maintain documentation on tools and pipelines for reference

What You Will Need:

  • Knowledge in game development areas:
    • Modelling & Texturing
    • Scripting/Tools Development
    • Lighting
    • Shaders (GLSL/HSLS)
    • VFX
    • Rendering & Post Processing
    • Rigging and Animation
    • Procedural
  • Strong understanding of Graphic Rendering Pipeline for game engines
  • At least 5+ years of game production experience
  • Proficient in scripting/programming in Blueprint (C++ is a bonus, but not required)
  • Strong experience in Unreal Engine
  • Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired
  • Effective communication with various audiences: artists, animators, engineers, managers
  • A solutions-provider for debugging technical issues
  • A willingness to solve new problems creatively
